New EchoLink trial in Brisbane

The CBRS is pleased to announce a trial of EchoLink in connection with its 70cm voice repeater VK4RBR situated atop the Moreton College of Technical and Further Education at Mt Gravatt in Brisbane which will be ongoing over the next 3 months.

The repeater has useful coverage of Brisbane and surrounding cities.

The link, VK4PKT-R (EchoLink node number 227492) is operational all hours and with 3 hams on the premises will be monitored closely for evaluation.

Permanency and configuration of the link depend on the result of trial..

At this stage connections to the node and therefore the repeater are accepted from any other repeater or conference operating on RF or authenticated Amateurs from the internet.

Due to propagation speeds via the internet it is requested that people using the VK4RBR repeater leave a gap of AT LEAST 2.5 seconds after any transmission before keying in reply to allow remote and local repeaters time to unkey and remotely connected Amateurs time to break or call.
This is VERY important. Please go slow on the key.

All Amateurs locally, interstate or overseas are invited to make full use of the facility.

All and any feedback should be directed by packet to the SysOp Ari, vk4jew@vk4wie.#bne.qld.aus.oc
In case of emergency by phone on 04 1053 3707.
