Are you entering the construction competition?
The South African Amateur Radio Development Trust invites radio
amateurs to enter the 2006 construction competition. Two Icom hand-held
transceivers and 6 ARRL 2006 Handbooks can be won.
There are two categories, a manual antenna matcher and an automatic
antenna matcher. The competition is run in two phases. Phase 1 is
a paper design with full specification. Documentation must be in
Word or a PDF file may be submitted. Two designs will be selected
in each category. The winners will be awarded R2000 each for phase
2. Two runner-ups will be chosen in each category who each will
receive the 2006 ARRL Handbook.
In Phase 2, the two phase one winners in each category are required
to construct their designs packaged in a suitable enclosure that
will compliment equipment in any shack.
Multisource Telecommunications has sponsored ICOM VC 8 and VC82
handheld transceivers. The winner of the manual category will win
the Icom VC 8, which is a 2 metre handheld and the winner of the
automatic category will receive the ICOM VC82. Both will also receive
a certificate and a copy of the 2006 ARRL Handbook.
Closing date for phase 1 is 15 March. More details can be found
