Pound DXpedition - VP2M
The 'Buddipole Users on Monserrat' (BUMS) have
made their final preparations for their lightweight DXpedition.
Operations are planned for January 29th through February 6th.
The seven operators are: Budd/W3FF (VP2MFF), Chris/W6HFP (VP2MHF), Scott/
NE1RD (VP2MRD), Mike/KC4VG (VP2MVG), Paul/KB9AVO (VP2MVO), Bob/AB7ST (VP2MST)
and Tom/W4OKW (VP2MTC).
They will establish two stations at Gingerbread Hill, one SSB/CW and
the other operating various data modes
including PSK31 and RTTY.
Several portable stations will be operated during the day from various
interesting points on the island including the Montserrat Volcano Observatory,
hilltops along hiking trails, and beaches using portable antennas, batteries,
and solar power.
DXpedition pilots supporting the operation from their homes in the U.S.
are Dan/WZ1P and Dave/KZ1O. QSL all contacts from operators via NE1RD.
