Straight Key Century Club sets first anniversary special event

Members of the fledgling Straight Key Century Club (SKCC) in the USA have reserved the call sign K1Y during January to celebrate the club’s first anniversary.

Only one operator will have the call sign at any given time in each US call area. Special QSL cards will be issued for confirmed contacts. All K1Y operators will be using straight keys or bugs using all HF bands.

The first day of each month, at 0000Z will be designated as a monthly operating event that allows SKCC members to work each other for credit. Contact with 100 SKCC members will qualify that person for a certificate of accomplishment.

Suggested operating frequencies are: 1820, 3530 for Europe DX, 3550, 7055, for Europe DX, 7120, 10120, 14048, 18080, 21120, 24910, 28170, 50090 kHz and 144.07 MHz.
All frequencies are + or – 10 kHz.
