Free
Magazine for Under-21s
The UK Microwave Group (UKuG) is pleased to announce
a new and innovative initiative which is available to any student under
the age of 21.
The UKuG produces ten copies of its flagship publication ‘Scatterpoint’
each year and, through this initiative, is offering to deliver all ten
copies free of charge each year to students
under the age of 21 via electronic mail.
Microwave technology and its diverse, associated applications (including
wireless communications, WLAN, WiMax, satellite / space communications,
radar etc.) are really in vogue these days and many youngsters are expressing
interest in and experimenting with microwaves through amateur radio.
Underpinning this tremendous growth in popularity of microwave amateur
radio, the UK regulator OFCOM has recently granted permission for amateur
radio foundation license holders to operate microwave amateur radio equipment
on the 10GHz frequency band and has also granted permission for intermediate
license holders to operate on the higher microwave frequency bands. The
UKuG is also running regular beginner’s workshops.
To register for, and take advantage of this initiative, please send an
e-mail to the UKuG secretary at ianlamb@btconnect.com
stating your name, date of birth, postal address, contact telephone number
and e-mail address.
The UKuG continues to celebrate its growth and success as the representative
voice of amateur radio microwave enthusiasts in the United Kingdom.
