VI3JAM Space Station Contact Pictures

There are some pictures in a web gallery of the crowd watching on CCTV in two locations. I wasn't inside the shack for the event, however I hope to get hold of some of those pics too.

The pics of the ARISS contact start at http://scouthq.net/gallery/v/sl07cafe/jabby/ (look under AJ2007 ARISS Contact 001)

Feel free to browse the rest of the galleries from the jamboree at that website

The kids are having a ball here. There is a huge amount of interest being shown in Amateur Radio by the kids.

Tonight we had a reception for all scouts (all ages) at the Jamboree who hold an Amateur Radio Licence. About 50 people attended, and about half of those were youth members, some as young as 12 years.

The Amateur Radio activity at this Jamboree is the best I've seen and is a credit to the Victorian Scout Radio And Electronics Service Unit.

The activity was made possible with the generous support of
Icom Australia, the WIA and Amateur Radio Victoria.

A Scout report of the ARISS contact can be seen in Edition 8 of the Jamboree newspaper "Kevin" which can be downloded from: http://www.getinthegame.com.au/kevin/kevin08.pdf
