50-MHz band in Germany now free for all Class A-licencees

Following in the switch-off of the last two German analogue TV-transmitters on VHF channel 2, German BNetzA has now officially lifted the 200 by 200 km wide protection zones around these transmitters.

On November 27, and on December 13 German Television "Das Erste" switched off its analogue TV-transmitters Grünten/Allgau and Göttelborner Höhe in Saarbrücken and replaced them by new digital DVB-T-transmitters.

This gives all German class A-licencees a free and undisturbed 6-m-band.
