Echolink - AMSAT-NA President to talk on Florida net

AMSAT-NA President, Rick Hambly W2GPS will join the Florida AMSAT Net, available World-Wide via Echolink, on Friday Jan 18 from 00:30 - 01:30 Universal Time (UT) to give a short status report and field questions.

Gould WA4SXM has supplied this information on the AMSAT Bulletin Board:

"This net links repeaters all over Florida and via EchoLink so there is ample opportunity for those that want to listen or ask questions.
The EchoLink nodes to connect through are: KG4YZY-R node number 4429 or N4HHA-R node number 44310.

The net's purpose is to provide a platform for hams with amateur satellite interest to meet and discuss topics of interest. All amateurs are invited to check in. Expect other AMSAT Officers and Board members to participate over the next few months."

The net will take place on Thursday from 7:30 - 8:30 pm EST which equates to Friday 00:30 - 01:30 in the United Kingdom.

For those who have not used Echolink before and wish to listen or join into the net, all you need to do is:

(1) Find your local Echolink node on 2 metre or 70 cm via the Echolink Status page at http://www.echolink.org/links.jsp

(2) Enable your radio's CTCSS tone on transmit (tone freq on Echolink Status)

(3) Tune to your local Echolink nodes frequency

(4) Press the PTT, give your callsign and enter the required node number, in this case 4429 or 44310, via the DTMF keypad.

This should connect your local node to the AMSAT net and enable you to hear the net participants.
