Bengal Amateur Radio Society at Subhas Mela 2008Bengal Amateur Radio Society will be participating at Subhas Mela 2008 at the coastal district of South 24 Parganas in West Bengal on 26/01/08 and 27/01/08. The following information from Nilanjan Majumdar, VU2HFR, Secretary Bengal Amateur Radio Society (BARS). The Co-ordinator for the event is Dr. Asish Biswas, VU2GMT (LL: 9432281198 Email: asish_gmt at yahoo.co.in). The society will be demonstrating Ham Radio Communication, distributing leaflets at the Ham Radio Booth at the Mela grounds on 26th and 27th January, 2008 in an effort to promote Amateur Radio and generate awareness in the coastal districts of West Bengal which are often subject to various natural calamities. An Amateur Radio Station will be QRV during the event and will be connected to the Calcutta VHF Repeater VU2CVH (145.650 MHz -ve shift) which will be connected to Echolink (VU2CVH-R Node No. 231511). The station will be QRV from 1600 hrs - 2000 hrs IST on 26th and 27th January, 2008. Bengal Amateur Radio Society (BARS)
