New UK Callbook in the pipeline?

Ian Abel, G3ZHI tells us that he is attempting to buy the UK amateur radio callbook data from regulator Ofcom, in order to produce a new callbook.

Ian says:

"I have applied to Ofcom to buy the callbook data - 60,000 names and addresses - to produce a callbook

SSL have previously sold the data to anybody on payment of the fee.

The request is now with the Ofcom, and their lawyers and management team are considering how they should respond to the request.
