Become an Intruder Watch Observer
What do loggers, taxi drivers, fishing trawlers and government agencies
all have in common? They are intruding on the amateur radio HF bands apparently
with permission of some government departments.
Ignoring the International Radio Regulations they use the ham bands to
communicate and authorities in the countries involved don't seem willing
to do anything about it.
These operators can be heard regularly on the bands. Including hydrology
monitors. taxi services, phone patching, military activities and over
the horizon radar, it is a large swathe of spectrum involved.
The Wireless Institute of Australia's Intruder Watch Service desperately
needs more radio amateurs to spare a few minutes and file observation
reports to challenge these intrusions.
