New D-STAR repeater in Serra dos Candeeiros, Portugal

Paulo Santos CT1EWA the President of ARAL -Associação de Radioamadores do Distrito de Leiria, has announced at the Portuguese ARLA/CLUSTER Internet mailing list on last January 17, that a new D-STAR repeater will go on test operating in Serra dos Candeeiros in center of Portugal, this Saturday, January 19.

This repeater operates only at the 70 cm Amateur Radio band, on a Digital Repeater Communications sub-band IARU recommendations channels.

This Local Ham Radio Association have join efforts with NAUCOM ( Icom's delegate company for Portugal ), and thanks to ICP-ANACOM - ( the equivalent to FCC in Portugal ) conformity, the project have become achievable.

With such partnership it was possible to engage this new technology in Portugal.
