Radio ham's death 'fixing mast'

A radio enthusiast died after a fall from a ladder, while apparently working on an aerial mast at his retirement home on a Mediterranean island.

Alan Wright, 71, orginally from Wrexham, is reported to have fallen three storeys down a shaft in Malta. It is understood Mr Wright had been working on an aerial at the time of the incident. The Foreign Office said next of kin had been informed and an investigation into the death was continuing.

According to reports in the English language Times of Malta newspaper, Mr Wright had been attempting to fix a radio mast on 22 January.
