events that made history this week - 1622 Papacy adopts 1 Jan as start of year instead of 25 March. 1830 World's first railway station, Mount Clare, Baltimore, Maryland USA. 1839 Louis Daguerre takes first photograph of the moon. 1884 P.Nipkow, Berlin, patents his television system. 1902 N.Stubblefield, USA, demonstrates his wireless telephone. 1904 Marconi Co's CQD - Distress signal introduced. Replaced by SOS 1906. 1906 Fessenden transmits CW and voice between USA and Scotland. 1946 First EME moonbounce signal by radio amateur N4CBC 112MHz, 3000W.
