Facebook - Save Our Stations

The UK Government intends to shutdown AM and FM broadcasting around 2015. A group has been formed on Facebook to oppose this move.

This group say their aim is to raise awareness of government plans to switch all radio to DAB, and switch off FM broadcasts as soon as 2015.

They believe this could spell disaster for local commercial radio - forcing them to cover much larger areas or merge with larger stations.

In other words they could lose their local focus - the very thing that makes them so popular.
