Vancouver 2010 Special Event Stations

Amateur Radio special event stations for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games have been on the air since October and there will be a chance to work VG7W on D-STAR during January 22-23

The Vancouver Olympics Amateur Radio Group (VOARG) is promoting and coordinating the operation of a series of Special Event Amateur Radio call signs to commemorate the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in February and March 2010. Activity is anticipated on most bands and modes.

Three 2 x 1 special event call signs have been assigned to the group and will be in operation during the following dates.

VG7V – Oct 01 through Nov 30, 2009
VG7W – Dec 01 through Jan 31, 2010
VG7G – Feb 01 through Mar 31, 2010
The V - W - G in the suffix of the calls indicates Vancouver Winter Games.

It has been reported on the DSTAR_DIGITAL group that VG7W will be active on D-STAR on
Friday January 22 18:00 - 19:00 PST
Saturday January 23 14:00 - 15:30 PST
VG7W will be found on reflector 16B
