Amateur Radio training course oversubscribed
The Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) report that as we go into 2012, interest in the hobby is growing, with their latest training course oversubscribed.
Such has been the demand from people wanting to get into amateur radio that all 12 places on the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) Foundation course starting January 12 were swiftly taken. The course was oversubscribed with more enquiries continuing to come in.
Some of those enquiring are pleasantly surprised to discover that you don't need previous experience in radio or electronics. Everything you need to know to get an amateur radio licence is taught on the short Foundation course.
Volunteers from the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society started running amateur radio courses in January 2002 and since then have run 43 courses and trained over 300 people. The work of the dedicated team of trainers has invigorated the hobby in Mid-Essex.
