Amateur Radio Training in the press
The Berwick Advertiser reports on the successful training course run by the Border Amateur Radio Society (BARS).
The Border Amateur Radio Society (BARS), which is based in Berwick upon Tweed, is celebrating again with the successful completion of yet another training course - the Intermediate Amateur Radio Licence Course.
One of the candidates, Greg Fordyce of Galashiels, was so keen to get his Intermediate licence that he took and passed both the Foundation and Intermediate exams on the same evening – quite an achievement!
Another candidate Doug Steedman, now 2M0LAT, from Coldingham, is one of the growing number of 4x4 enthusiasts who are taking up amateur radio. His 4x4 club provides support to the local emergency services in extreme weather conditions.
