iPad launched into near space

As a publicity stunt, a rugged case manufacturer G-Form attached an iPad, in one its cases, to a balloon and sent it up to an altitude of 30 km.

At that height the balloon burst and the iPad fell to earth landing on a rocky hill in Nevada. It apparently surived the landing.
