Jamesburg Earth Station For Sale
What would be an ideal amateur radio site near Monterey, complete with a beautiful 30m dish, is up for sale.
Located in a quiet setting 20 miles southeast of Monterey, the dish comes complete with 160-acres of land, a three-bedroom house, a helicopter landing pad and a 20,000-square-foot nuclear bunker that it's claimed can survive a five-megaton nuclear blast.
The Jamesburg Earth Station, transmitted some of the first images of the Apollo 11 moon landing and more recently in 2007 the dish was used by radio amateurs for Moonbounce.
The original asking price was $4.2 million but the owner is reportedly willing to drop the price by $1 million.
