Video of QSOs with two museum ships

Back in September I had the good fortune to have a QSO with the USS Hornet aircraft carrier, not far from me in the San Francisco Bay Area, on a day they had scouts onboard who were working on their amateur radio merit badges. The scouts I spoke with were having their first QSO and I was privileged to give them their first QSO and a friendly voice.

The USS Hornet was the ship that recovered the astronauts from the Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 moon walks when the came back to Earth.

My QSO after that was with the USS Pampanito submarine in San Francisco. Those of you who have seen my videos probably saw the video of me operating the ham radio station there. This time I was in the field and was talking with my good friends Bill, KF6RMK and Jerry, WA6BXV who were aboard that Saturday.

There are lots of great photos of the Hornet.
I hope you enjoy the video.
