The recent solar disturbances
In the last few days there have been several news items regarding the recent solar disturbances, both on www.southgatearc.org and the normal news channels.
The disturbances have the potential of serious impact on terrestrial systems like communication and power systems.
Notably, a quite large part of the data used for the predictions and pictures are received continuously (24/7) by the Sternwarte Bochum/ AMSAT-DL ground station and by DL0SHF in Kiel. Both stations have delivered the important real-time data on a voluntary basis directly to NASA/JPL/NOAA since 2009.
