Youths to bond with the best — ham radio
The Times of India reports on amateur radio involvement with the National Youth Festival (NFY), Jan. 12-16, at Mangalore.
They say "Guess what's going to ensure uninterrupted communication at NYF? It's neither the internet nor the smartphone - Gen Y [Generation Y] is going to be connected, albeit indirectly, via amateur radio aka ham radio, which is a first for youth festival."
Radio amateurs will be using the special-call sign VU17NYF for the event.
