10th Ipswich Scouts summer camp - G8BLS/P

The 10th Ipswich Scouts will be going to Skreens Park Camp site, near Chelmsford 23rd to 30th July. Although we do not currently have any Radio-Active Scouts in the troop at present, I hope to start indoctrinating (or is it irradiating)
them during the camp.

Geoff M3FFT will be with us for some of the time so between us we hope to get on for a while most evenings and possibly at other times as and when the programme permits.

We will be using an 'inverted V' cut for 80M and tap-able for 40 and 20, as the design by Andre GM3VLB in March and April Radcom. I have not tried the centre fed inverted V yet but the end fed arrangement 'kicks butt' (as used at GB2SSG
on St Georges day) and M3IAT (now 2E0RMG) and Co used the CF version to good effect at their camp a few weeks ago.

We will be using solar charged batteries to power the station, Alinco DX70 or Geoff's IC703, we may also be on 2 metres with an FT817 and a 4 el beam if time permits. We may get round to putting a 1/2 wave vertical up for 20 or 17 metres if time, trees and conditions allow.

We will be only a few miles from EuroJam at Hylands Park and hope we can work them to bring a bit of 'the magic of EuroJam' to our humble (cheap) camp. We will monitor/call on the 'Scout' frequencies, and can work the top half of
40metres.

Will there be any activity from Hylands, Gilwell and Brownsea during the period 23rd to 30th ? If so we would
be grateful for a contact, if only as a test stooge, and an exchange of greetings message if possible.
