RSGB President to serve an extra year

The RSGB’s National Council has unanimously agreed that the current Presidential term be extended by one year until 31 December 2006.

This is in recognition of the unique situation facing amateur radio at the moment, which makes it important that stability is maintained amongst the key officers dealing with these issues on a day to day basis.

In accepting and agreeing to serve for a further year, Jeff Smith, MI0AEX, becomes the first President to serve a three-year term of office since the late Alf Gay, G6NF, who served from 1941 to 1943.
