5MHz experiment extended to 2010

UK telecommunications regulator Ofcom and the Ministry of Defence have agreed to extend the 5MHz experiment that started at the end of July 2002 until the 30 June 2010.

The extension follows discussions between Ofcom and the RSGB. 5MHz NoV holders will also now be permitted to use an additional two frequencies.

But the current NoVs issued by the Radiocommunications Agency will expire on 31 July 2006 and Full Licensees wanting to continue to use these frequencies will have to download and complete a new NoV application form – entitled Ofw285.

This form is available from the Ofcom and RSGB Spectrum websites
