High Country QRPAs in previous years, VK3HFI, VK3JPA, VK3SN and now VK3FURY will be heading to the Bogong High Plains in the Victorian Alps for a back-country Nordic skiing adventure. They will be on cross country skis and carrying packs for 5 days through this winter wilderness to operate on all bands from 80m through to 70 cm. Solar panels and sealed lead acid batteries will keep the rigs on air and they plan to be active each afternoon from 11-14th of August. While power output is limited to 5 W, with a bit of patience the team have enjoyed excellent contacts throughout VK and some stations further afield in the past and appreciate the efforts put in by all stations they QSO with.
