International Amateur Radio Union Region
3 conference
August 7-11 in Bangalore, India
This is the first time that these bi-annual meets are being held in
India.
The Amateur Radio Society of India will be hosting these meets and also
the connected IARU R3 Financial Committee and the IARU Region 3 Directors
meetings between the 3rd and the 11th of August.
These meets will be held at the Hotel Hari International, Subedar Chatram
Road, Bangalore 560 009.
The Tentative schedule is as follows :
3rd to 5th August - IARU R3 Directors meet
6th August - IARU R3 Team leaders meeting
7th to 9th August - IARU R3 Plenary and Conference
10th August - Tours to Mysore, Belur and Halebid and Bangalore Sightseeing.
11th August - IARU R3 Directors, Secretary and Co-ordinators elections.
Added to this will be the IARU GC meeting being held at the Hotel Le
Meridian.
Japan, The United States of America, Korea, Pitcairn Island, The United
Kingdom, Venezuela, Norway, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Chinese Taipei,
Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan are some of the countries that are
sending delegations to these conferences.
ARSI President Gopal Madhavan, VU2GMN will be the chairman of the conference.
India, is represented at the conference by Sarla Sharma, VU2SWS, A.R.
Prathap Kumar, VU2POP, Govind Girimaji, VU2GGM and Rajaram K.N., VU2KKZ.
Past President R. Ramchandra will attend the conference by virtue of
being one of the five directors of the IARU R3. Manohar Arasu, VU2UR will
also officially attend the conference as the IARU R3 co-ordinator.
There will be a special event station with the callsign VU-13-IARU (
Subject to confirmation ) operating from the venue for all the days of
the conference. The prefix 13 denotes the 13th IARU R3 conference.
All preparations are almost completed and the first delegates have started
arriving in Bangalore.
