Italian CubeSat PiCPoT
Initially it was believed that there were 13 Amateur CubeSats due for
launch on July 26th but it seems there’s one more, PiCPot, an Italian
CubeSat built by the "Politecnico di Torino".
This is the forerunner of what is hoped will be a constellation of satellites
to be built by Italian Universities.
The satellite, which is just 13 cm square and weighs 2.5 kg, will carry
three cameras with JPEG compressor and storage for up to five images.
There will be transmitters and receivers for both 437.485 and 2440.000
MHz providing two half duplex channels using APRS protocol at 9600 bit/s.
A reaction wheel is used to achieve 3 axis control.

DNEPR-1LV Launch
PiCPoT and the 13 other Amateur CubeSats will be launched by a DNEPR-1LV
rocket from the Kazakstan Baikonur Cosmodrome at 19:43:00 UTC on Wednesday
July 26th. The launch had originally been planned for 28th June but was
postponed, see
