Women On The Air

On Wednesday 9 August, which is national women's day, the South African Radio League will feature an INTECNET type of activity celebrating the history of women in South Africa as well as relaying messages for YL radio amateurs.

Clubs are invited to nominate one of their YL members to participate in the event, which will run from 11:00 TO 12:00.

Please send the YL's details to armi@sarl.org.za so that messages can be recorded or live participation arrangements can be made.

Clubs are invited to join their local repeaters to the teleconference network. Please send details of the telephone number to be linked and repeater information to armi@sarl.org.za before 4 August.

Oh, YL stands for young lady. The term XYL is seldom used today as no one needs to be or wants to be an 'X' !
So all women radio amateurs are YL's. After all most women stop counting their age after 21 or so!
