GB100BI and GB100S Brownsea Island, Dorset

GB100S will be the callsign used from Brownsea from midnight on the 31st July until midnight on the 1st August.
At all other times the callsign will be GB100BI.

Operation from Brownsea Island is expected to be continuous as far as possible when local conditions allow.

The amateur radio station GB100S on Brownsea Island for the Sunrise Ceremony on 1st August 2007 will form the links with the rest of the Scouting World.

It is intended to send and receive digital slowscan television images with all the previous World Jamboree sites, along with other selected locations, via shortwave radio.

GB100BI Update Wednesday 25th July
I'm pleased to report that the set-up of GB100BI is almost complete and we expect to be up and running when the first par ticipants arrive on Brownsea Island tomorrow. The shack is looking very cosy and well decorated with badges, QSL cards & pennants as well as having an impressive array of radio equipment!

We have had several challenges with heavy rain and poor weather generally to deal with on-site but these are now largely overcome - though gale-force winds have been forecast overnight so the 30m tower has been wound down as a precaution.

Look out for us on the usual Scout frequencies.
