80 years Amateur Radio organisation - 35 years DARC HQ

80 years of organised Amateur Radio in Germany and 35 years of the new DARC HQ in Baunatal are two of the important jubilees for German Amateur Radio.

In 1927 the first German National Amateur Radio Society, the Deutscher Amateur Sende- und Empfangsdienst (DASD) was founded.

Because of the war it was liquidated and followed by the present Deutscher Amateur-Radio Club e. V. (DARC) in 1950.

In 1972 the new DARC HQ was opened in Baunatal near Kassel and now houses both the QSL-card-service and the membership administration in one building.

Both jubilees will be celebrated together with members and visitors on a Day of open house on September 8th from 9 a.m. in Baunatal.

The DARC would be happy to welcome representatives of the European National Societies as well as International visitors.

More information on this day is available (unfortunately only in German) on http://www.darc.de/tdot2007/
