Columbia.
1829 First typewriter was patented by William Burt of
Mt. Vernon, MI.
1837 Wheatstone & Cooke send their first telegraph
message 2 km.
1847 R. M. Hoe, New York City patented the rotary-type
printing press.
1866 After a dozen years, Cyrus Field successfully completed
the trans-Atlantic Cable.
1871 S. Wheeler of Albany, NY patented perforated toilet
paper.
1909 O. Wright tests first US Army airplane, 1 hour 12
minutes
