Ofcom publishes Annual Report 2006/7

On Thursday, the UK Regulator Ofcom published its Annual Report for 2006/7. The report is divided into five main sections:

A: Introduction
B: Core areas of activity
C: Operating and financial review
D: Statement of accounts and corporate governance
E: Accounts for the period 1 April 2006 to 31 March 2007

In 2006/7, Ofcom undertook 707 separate enforcement operations against illegal broadcasters; this included 48 raids on studios used by illegal broadcasters and the seizure of 661 illegal radio transmitters.

During the year Ofcom secured 61 successful convictions.
