GB6RH at Walesby World Experience 2007

An international Scout and Guide camp is to take place at the Walesby Forest Scout Centre in the Sherwood Forest area of Nottinghamshire from July 27 until August 4 2007

Over 3000 Scout and Guide campers are expected to be on site from countries as far afield as Canada, USA, Turkey and Egypt to celebrate the Centenary of Scouting.

Many activities are planned and these will feature both on-site and off-site activitie which will include participation in the Sunrise Ceremony, day trips to the 21st World Jamboree at Hylands Park and an amateur radio station.

GB6RH expects to be active from the afternoon of Friday, July 27 and to remain operational until about 15:00 GMT on Saturday, August 4th. The station will be QRV with QRO stations on 80m, 40m, 20/15/10m and 30, 17 and 12m
(conditions permitting) and will have the capability of using various modes including SSB, CW, SSTV, RTTY and PSK32.

It is also planned to have the use of Echolink, using the facilities offered by GB3IN (node number 98258) although this may change if an internet connection materialises (watch this space for any update).

GB6RH is registered as one of the Sunrise Network stations (see http://home.tiscali.nl/worldscout) and as such will be worth 5 points for the Centenary of Scouting Radio Award to anyone contacting us.

We look forward to working you.
