D-Star For Dorset

A new D-Star digital repeater and gateway GB7MM is due to go on air soon.

Located 2km south of Wimborne in Dorset, the new repeater is to be run and maintained by a small group of enthusiastic amateurs, who are keen to play a part in the expansion of D-Star coverage in the Dorset area.

GB7MM will operate on RV56 (145.700/145.100) and employs hardware generously loaned by Icom UK of Herne Bay Kent.

The NoV was issues after new digital repeater received approval on 25 June. The GB7MM team is working hard to ensure that the repeater is on air in quick time. The target being by the end of July.

The GB7MM repeater group are pleased to announce that the number of D-Star operators is already climbing in anticipation of the repeater becoming operational.

If you reside in, or are visiting the Dorset area and are a
D-Star user, then feel free to call on RV56 and work the growing band of D-Star equipped amateurs in the area.
