Mountain Goats

Frank Regan G3RMD, of Cheltenham, has achieved the coveted Mountain Goat status in the Summits on the Air programme.

Frank passed through the 1000 activator point threshold back in January 2008 during an expedition in the English Lake District. Another milestone was achieved when Frank completed every summit in the South Wales region (41 summits). He was four short of the "set", but polished these off in a marathon expedition on 30th May 2008.

The summits activated that day were Mynydd Twyn-glas GW/SW-019, Wentwood GW/SW-033, Mynydd y Glyn GW/SW-027 and Cefn Eglwysilan GW/SW-025.

Richard Marshall G4ERP

Congratulations also to Richard Marshall G4ERP, of Bishops Cleeve, who attained the Mountain Goat award in SOTA.

Richard reached the milestone when he activated his local summit Cleeve Hill G/CE-001 on 10th February 2008. At the same time, Richard also celebrated his recent Shack Sloth award for achieving 1000 chaser points for working other SOTA activators.

Other recent Mountain Goats include Lutz DJ3AX.
