GB0RSR on air today

Icom UK will be on the air today from the Red Sands forts, located in the Thames Estuary.

Using the special callsign GB0RSR, Icom will be broadcasting on HF using an IC-756PROIII in the evening and on VHF/UHF in the day.

Icom UK also plan to conduct D-Star transmissions into a repeater system and the Internet. A vertical antenna will be affixed to the stanchions on the Southern Gun Tower roof to support the communications.

We have found the following four videos posted on YouTube which will give you the history and flavour of these old wartime defence forts - built to defend London during WWII.
