SwissCube - Delivery to India

The SwissCube website reports that the Amateur Radio satellite, and those responsible for integrating it, will shortly be leaving for the launch site in India.

The website says that on July 30, Fabien, Nicolas, Guillaume, responsible for the integration of the satellite, will be going to the launch site at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR (SDSC SHAR), Sriharikota and on August 7 will handover the satellite to their Indian colleagues.

The SwissCube mission has a scientific and a technology objective. It will observe and take measurements of the airglow phenomena.

An Amateur Radio downlink frequency of 437.505 MHz has been co-ordinated for the satellite.

Space launches are technically challenging and are usually prone to last minute changes, so the exact launch date is still not known.
