Borneo Amateur Radio Festival comes to an endThe 6th Borneo Amateur Radio Festival, featuring some 300 amateur radio operators, drew to a close Sunday night in a ceremony held at Asma Hotel, Jerudong. The festival had featured several competitions involving tests on Morse Code, general and technical knowledge. It was jointly organised by the Brunei Darussalam Amateur Radio Association (Bdara) and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports with Yang Amat Mulia Pg Anak Hj Abdul Wadood Bolkiah Pg Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pg Anak Hj Abdul Aziz as the guest of honour. In his speech, Pg Hj Salleh Ab Rahman, president of Bdara said that the festival had received an encouraging turnout by the participating amateur radio operators. He added that with continued efforts and interests from the operators of the amateur radio scene would prevail through all the challenges it faces. Pg Hj Salleh also expressed his gratitude to all participating parties from Borneo, the organising committee and all the amateur radio societies for making the 6th Borneo Amateur Radio Festival a success. The president added that such cooperation must continue in ensuring future festivals and get-togethers. Pg Hj Salleh also reminded the radio amateur enthusiasts of the unique opportunity to share and exchange their experiences while keeping in line and up to date with ethics and technology. Pg Hj Salleh's speech was followed by the presentation of prizes to contest winners. Participants and guests were then invited to dine whilst a lucky draw was held exclusively for the festival participants.
