CARS Dame Nellie Melba and PLT interviewAs part of the 90th anniversary celebrations of the Dame Nellie Melba broadcast CARS Chairman, John Bowen G8DET, gave an interview to FrequencyCast and raised the matter of the pollution caused by PLT Home Networking devices. Power Line Telecommunications (PLT) home networking devices use the electricity mains to transfer data and generate a smog of radio pollution that ruins peoples enjoyment of radio. This pollution can affect radio reception over 300 metres from the house where the devices are installed. You can hear the MP3 of the interview at The Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) meet on the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Marconi Social Club (MASC), Beehive Lane, Great Baddow, Chelmsford, CM2 9RX. The doors open at 7:10 pm and the meeting gets underway at 7:30 pm. Car parking is free and a bar is available for refreshments.
