New OSCAR 7 DX record

On July 15 at 2226 UT PY5LF worked K3SZH via the Amateur Radio satellite OSCAR 7 and achieved a new DX record of 7843 km (4898 miles).

OSCAR 7 continues to give superb service nearly 36 years after its launch even though the batteries have failed and it's only operational when the solar panels are in sunlight.

Users should ensure they use the minimum power necessary for communications.
