Additional callsign celebrates 50th anniversary

The Royal Naval Amateur Radio Society is holding a celebration weekend event in Coventry on the 6th, 7th and 8th of August, the highlight of which will be a gala dinner on the Saturday.

A special event callsign GB50RN has been obtained for the weekend and will be aired on CW and SSB on the HF and WARC bands from 80 metres to 10 metres and with FM on the 2-metre and 70-centimetre bands.

The Royal Naval Amateur Radio Society is celebrating its 50th anniversary throughout year using the special callsign GB50RNARS which is being aired by members of the Society from various locations in the UK.

A special Anniversary award is available to listeners and licenced amateurs who hear or contact RNARS members and the specials event stations during 2010. Full details can be found on the society web site at: www.rnars.org.uk
