Radio Ham Storm ChaserBart Comstock KF5CHQ has put together a video of some of the spectacular storms he's chased. The YouTube description reads: This is a promo video of mine that is a hodgepodge of video taken in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. It features some of my flood, blizzard, hurricane, severe weather, and tornado footage and includes different sound bites of me while chasing. If you have any questions about chasing or media ride-a-longs please feel free to email me at the address that is found towards the end of this video. Here is a little about my chasing set up for 2010. This year I will be shooting in HD with a Canon XH-A1s. This will be the second year of service for The Storm Trooper which is a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with AWD and a 4.6l V8. Inside my vehicle I have 1 USB dash mounted Logitech Orbit cam, 1 Sony MiniDV camera mounted to the windshield with a Film Tools suction mount. Both the dash and the windshield cam are for my live video stream which is broadcast through SevereStudios.com and it can be licensed for on air use. Just use the contact information bellow to inquire about my streaming services. Also inside the Jeep is a dash mounted scanner, ram mount laptop stand with a HP Laptop on it, a 750 watt inverter, and a Maximum Signal wireless amp for my Sprint air card. My HTC Hero also mounts to the windshield for hands free calling while chasing. Last year The Storm Trooper logged over 25000 miles while chasing despite it being such a slow year and this season I plan on going out even more. I have over 5 years of experience in the field as a spotter and chaser and I have been chasing for news stations for the past 3 years. I have experience as both a photog and as a on air severe weather reporter. I am avid in Adobe CS4 Premier Pro and Photoshop CS4. I'm also very comfortable with Windows Media Encoder, Microsoft Expression Encoder 2 & 3, GRlvl3, Spotter Network, Adobe On Location CS4 and Adobe Media Encoder. I can easily edit HDV format video in the field and can rapidly upload files onto a FTP server while chasing. I am proficient at editing in both a linear and non linear system and working under deadlines and high stress environments. I am a PADI Rescue Diver and First Emergency Responder, and have actively volunteered with the American Red Cross during the 2005 hurricane season and 2006 tornado season. I can very easily speak in front of large audiences and have been featured on national television and had my footage aired by several shows and national news outlets. I also am a certified HAM radio operator. My call sign is KF5CHQ. To license this footage or for questions about it or my self please contact SevereStudios.com at 1-866-WX-LIVE1 (1-866-995-4831) or send an email to Info@SevereStudios.com Watch - Chasing Storms with Bart Comstock
