Australian Remembrance Day Contest 2005

In a sweeping modernising project, the WIA have introduced a number of key changes to the Remembrance Day Contest this year, which will affect all entrants.

We were most anxious for the RD to maintain its position as Australia's premier contest, and felt that some changes were needed to do just that.

Late night operation will be encouraged by offering double points for all contacts made between 1am and 6am in your local area.

You can work stations in the same call area on 160 and 10 metres, and there are special incentives for working 10 metres FM, too.

We've separated VK8 from VK5, and give all VK8 entrants double points, as we do for all stations operating within VK9 and VK0 as well.

If you need any issues resolved, or have any questions about the RD or it scoring, please write to the contest manager on the special RD E-mail address. This is a new address, so please note rd@wia.org.au

Now, talking of Australian contests, the RD is preceded by the Trans-Tasmans on both 80 and 160 metres.
Good practice, I'd say!
