Thai TV and radio may go off-air after midnightAll TV channels - including cable TV stations - and community radio stations in Thailand will be asked to stop transmissions after midnight each day from now until August, the Bangkok Post has reported. The directive is a part of energy-saving measures introduced by the country’s Energy Policy Committee. Metta Bantherngsuk, Director of the Energy Policy and Planning Office, said the effectiveness of the measures will be evaluated after August. Compulsory measures will be introduced should the temporary ones prove ineffective. Source: Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union |
