Radio Amateur Joe Walsh WB6ACU plays gig at Twickenham

Joe Walsh WB6ACU The Eagles guitarist, solo artist, songwriter and longtime Radio Amateur, will be playing a gig along with the rest of The Eagles at Twickenham on Saturday 17th June.

Joe was first licensed as WV2KAC in 1961 in Queens, New York using a crystal on 7152, a Heath DX-20 and a BC-348 [a WW 2-era receiver]. He later got his General licence and has been on the air on and off ever since.

When asked “What effect has Amateur Radio had on your life?” he replied “Amateur Radio has done nothing but make my life more fun, more interesting. I have friends around the world. And they stay friends, you know?”

Joe is a member of the Southern California DX Club http://www.scdxc.org/

Several Radio Amateurs including Clive Ward G1EUC http://www.clive.ward.btinternet.co.uk/ will be attending the gig on Saturday so expect some activity from Twickenham on 2 metres.
