RTM Sabah DJ's broadcast while parasailing

Six Sabah Vfm DJ's achieved a first on Saturday by broadcasting their programme while parasailing at Manukan island off the coast of Kota Kinabalu.

Pulled along by three speedboats, the six were strapped to three parachutes and glided at an altitude of 200 metres for 30 minutes. Sabah Vfm is a Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) radio station that broadcast programmes in English, Dusun, Mandarin, Murut, Kadazan and Bajau.

The DJ's broadcast their respective reports live from 11.15am to 11.45am local time using their handphones, and interacted with colleagues at a mini studio installed on Manukan island and the station in Kota Kinabalu.

Sabah RTM director of broadcasting Datuk Jumat Engson hoped the feat by the six DJ's would be recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records. The stunt was performed by Sabah Vfm to draw listeners' attention to its new programme which is part of its rebranding exercise.

The Malaysia Book of Records had recognised Sabah FM's effort in broadcasting live from Mount Kinabalu at an altitude of 3,314.3 metres in February.
