Progress 22 launches to resupply International Space Station

The Progress 22 cargo spacecraft launched on time Saturday morning at 11:08 a.m. EDT from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

The resupply ship is delivering propellant, oxygen, water and other cargo. Docking with the International Space Station is scheduled for Monday, June 26 at 12:27 p.m. NASA TV coverage begins at 11:30 a.m.

Flight Engineer Jeff Williams KD5TVQ and station Commander Pavel Vinogradov RV3BS continue preparing the station for Space Shuttle Discovery on mission STS-121. The two crewmembers have checked out the robotic arm, serviced U.S. spacesuits and configured communication headsets.

The shuttle is set for launch July 1 at 3:49 p.m. EDT delivering a third crewmember for Expedition 13 - European Space Agency astronaut Thomas Reiter DF4TR.

• NASA astronauts Michael Lopez-Alegria and Sunita Williams and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin have been named as the 14th crew of the International Space Station. Expedition 14 is scheduled to begin this fall.
