Youth for Amateur RadioFriday 16 June is Youth Day in South Africa and radio amateurs have once again an opportunity to link young people via amateur radio in the SARL Youth for Amateur Radio activity. This activity will run from 09:00 to 13:00 CAT on the 40, 20 and 2 metre bands. Information has been posted on the SARL Forum; it is available in HF Happenings 202 and in the 2006 SARL Contest Manual. The Department of Communication has asked that the Koponang Project schools be included in the Youth for Amateur Radio activities. Clubs and individual radio amateurs are requested to set up stations and invite young people to enjoy chatting via amateur radio.
